Based in Leicester and online.
Hello, my name is Sam.
As a fully qualified, BACP registered Psychodynamic Counsellor, I am here to listen and support you to talk through anything that may be worrying you, in a safe, non-judgmental and neurodivergent-affirming space.
If you are feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, overwhelmed or just generally stuck in life, talking it through in counselling may help.
Together we can explore any current issues that are affecting you, and working psychodynamically, we can try to make sense of past events in your life and discover together how your significant relationships may be impacting how you are experiencing the world right now.
Counselling can help you to gain understanding and identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
If you are struggling with loss or bereavement, ill health, ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia, burnout, loneliness, menopause, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or if you just want to make a change in your life, I may be able to help.
My specialist area is neurodivergence, Autism and ADHD, having 10 years prior experience as an Autism Specialist Mentor, supporting autistic and AuDHD students and staff in Higher Education.
You may be wondering about neurodivergence or be looking for support with exploring your identity, going through the diagnostic process, or thinking about what going for a diagnosis might mean for you? If you would like a warm and confidential space to talk, please get in touch.
I offer long-term open-ended and fixed term psychodynamic counselling.
Counselling sessions are weekly, 50 minutes long, on the same day and at the same time every week, either face-to-face at the counselling centre or online via Zoom, and you are free to end your therapy at any time.
How do we get started?
If you would like to make an enquiry about starting counselling, or have any questions, please contact me via email with an outline of what brings you to therapy.
Following your initial contact, I will email you to arrange an assessment session, either face-to-face or online.
The assessment session is slightly different from a regular counselling session as the session lasts 1 hour.
It is for you to ask me any question you have about the counselling process, and for me to ask you a few more questions to find out a bit more about why you would like to come for counselling and what you would like to get out of it. It is also an opportunity for you and I to see if we are a good fit for each other.
(Please check your ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ folder if you have not received a reply from me within two working days).
Counselling sessions are charged at £50 per session
An assessment session is charged at £30.
